Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, and Virginia earn berths in 30-team field

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Five ACC teams have advanced to the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship following the final round of regional play on Saturday, the most from the league since five reached in 2010.

The Seminoles and Tigers advanced out of the Chapel Hill Regional, while Georgia Tech and Virginia came out of the Rancho Santa Fe Regional. Duke earned a spot with a top-five finish at the Lubbock Regional.

In addition to the five teams, Louisville’s Robin Sciot-Siegrist earned a spot in the championship as an individual.

The five ACC teams will finish their seasons at the 2015 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship, which will be held May 29-June 3 at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida.

The 2015 championships will feature a new format while maintaining the 72-hole stroke play format for determining the individual champion. Finals play will now consist of three days of stroke play on Friday thru Sunday (54 holes), after which the top 15 teams and nine individuals not on an advancing team will be determined. That is followed by a final day of 18 holes of stroke play (Monday) to determine the top eight teams that will advance to match play as well as the 72-hole individual champion. The team national champion will be determined by a match-play format that will consist of quarterfinals and semifinals conducted on Tuesday, followed by the finals on Wednesday.
