Seminole Sound-off: Early Grade for Everett Golson

This week, we asked our readers to give quarterback and Notre Dame transfer Everett Golson a grade for his first three games at Florida State.

From the Staff

To say it’s been an up-and-down start for Florida State quarterback Everett Golson might be a bit of an understatement. Golson was outstanding in the Seminoles’ season-opening victory over Texas State, but woeful in the first half against South Florida and the second half against Boston College last week.

Still, we should give Golson some benefit of the doubt. The senior is playing in a new offense and behind an offensive line that has four new starters. FSU’s talented corps of receivers has had an early case of the drops in 2015 as well.

The biggest knock on Golson when he came to FSU however, was his tendency to turn the ball over. Through three games, that’s something he’s yet to do and as long as he continues to protect the football, the Seminoles should have a chance to win every game. For the first quarter of the season, I give Golson a B-.
