Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week: Lawrence Timmons

Despite another big week for San Francisco Giants’ catcher Buster Posey, the Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the week of September 8th through the 14th comes on the NFL gridiron.

Though it came in a losing effort, Pittsburgh Steelers’ linebacker Lawrence Timmons is this week’s top professional athlete from Florida State. In a 26-6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night, Timmons was everywhere, recording a game-high 12 tackles. Seven were solo stops.

Timmons now has 18 tackles on the season, which is tied for 14th in the NFL. Timmons and the Steelers get set to face the Carolina Panthers on Sunday night.
