Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week: James Ramsey

Florida State is one win away from a berth in the Super Regionals with the hope of advancing to the College World Series for the first time since 2012, but it was also a big week for a player who was on the team the last time the Seminoles made it to Omaha.

Minor league outfielder James Ramsey is the Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the week of May 25th through the 31st after hitting .333 at the Triple-A level for the Columbus Clippers.

Ramsey was 7-for-21 in six games for the Cleveland Indians’ affiliate with two home runs, six RBIs and three runs scored. Ramsey is hitting .260 for the year in 47 games with 7 home runs and 22 RBIs. Ramsey is tied for second in the International League in homers.

Daniel Berger finished -10 at the AT&T Byron Nelson in Irving, Texas. Berger was tied with five other players for 10th in the tournament, eight strokes back of winner Steven Bowditch.

Everett Dawkins finished with two tackles and forced fumbles in the Storm’s 35-34 win over the New Orleans VooDoo on Saturday.

Clevan Thomas, CB San Jose SaberCats (Arena Football League)
Clevan Thomas helped keep San Jose undefeated with three tackles, a fumble recovery and an interception in a 61-42 victory over the Portland Thunder on Saturday.
