Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week: Jameis Winston

The top overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft is improving on a weekly basis and has his team with a chance to compete for a playoff spot. On Sunday, that former Florida State player had perhaps his best game yet on a professional level.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ quarterback Jameis Winston is the Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the week of November 16th through the 22nd after tossing five touchdown passes in a 45-17 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Winston finished the day 19-for-29 passing for 246 yards and his highest passer rate yet of 131.6. Winston’s five touchdown passes not only tied an NFL record for touchdown passes for a rookie, but his five touchdown throws went to five different receivers as the Buccaneers improved to 5-5 after winning just two games a season ago. For the season, Winston has more than 2,400 yards passing and 19 total touchdowns.
