Florida State split a pair of contests this week as the Seminoles defeated Boston College on Wednesday before falling to No. 2 Virginia on Sunday night. It wasn’t a week filled with great individual performances, but Devon Bookert was clutch in Florida State’s home victory on Wednesday.
Bookert is the Florida State Basketball Player of the Week for the week of February 16th through the 22nd and the second week in a row. Bookert managed just one point in Sunday’s 51-41 loss to Virginia, but was very efficient against Boston College.
In Wednesday’s 69-60 victory, Bookert led Florida State with 18 points and on a stellar 6-for-7 shooting from the field. Bookert connected on four of his five 3-point attempts as the Seminoles erased an early 11-point deficit to earn their 15th win of the year.
Bookert struggled on Sunday, going 0-for-8 from the field, but still managed to lead the team with 3 assists. Florida State actually led the second-ranked Cavaliers with over 10 minutes to play, but managed just four points the rest of the way.
For the season, the junior Bookert is averaging 10.5 points-per-game and ranks second on the team with just under three assists per contest. Bookert is shooting 42 percent from deep and leads the team in minutes-played-per-game.
