A highly-anticipated road series for Florida State against a Louisville team that ranked as high as No. 2 began on the right foot Friday night, but fizzled over the final two games. After easily taking the opener, Florida State managed just one hit on Saturday before letting a 5-run lead slip away on Sunday. By taking two of three from the Seminoles, Louisville has clinched the Atlantic division title and the top spot in the ACC Tournament later this month.
Florida State sits at 37-16 for the year after a 2-2 week. The Seminoles defeated Stetson 3-1 on Tuesday. FSU is also 17-10 in ACC play and will conclude the regular season at home against Clemson. The 3-game series starts Thursday. The Seminoles can clinch the third seed in the conference tournament by winning one of the three games this coming week.

Friday, May 8th
Ben DeLuzio, D.J. Stewart, and Chris Marconcini each drove in two runs as Florida State handled Louisville in the series-opener. DeLuzio hit his first home run of the season while he, Stewart and John Sansone each scored twice. Josh Delph touched home three times in the victory. Zach Lucas homered for the Cardinals as he and first baseman Brendan McKay each plated a pair in the Louisville loss. Boomer Biegalski allowed four runs in five innings to earn the win for the Seminoles.

Saturday, May 9th
Brendan McKay and Lincoln Henzman combined to throw a 1-hit shutout as Florida State was blanked for the third time in a little over a month. McKay pitched 6 1/3 hitless innings, but walked four and was replaced due to a high pitch count. Danny Rosenbaum homered and scored twice in the victory while catcher Colby Fitch was 3-for-4 with a run scored and three driven in. Chris Marconcini had the only hit of the day for Florida State in the loss.

Sunday, May 10th
Louisville took the series from Florida State in dramatic fashion as the Cardinals overcame a 5-0 deficit to top the Seminoles. Trailing 5-0 after five, Louisville scored two in the sixth and tied the game with three in the seventh on a 3-run home run by Nick Solak. The Cardinals went ahead for good on a solo shot by Will Smith in the eighth. Darren Miller drove in two runs for the Seminoles in the loss while Quincy Nieporte went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored.
