‘Noles Vault to 7th in Collegiate Baseball Poll

After a 4-1 week that included a 2-game sweep of previously No. 6 UCF, Florida State vaulted into the top 10 in the Collegiate Baseball Poll.

The Seminoles climbed four spots in the poll to No. 7 from 11th after an outstanding week, but the biggest jump for FSU came in the USA Today Coaches Poll. Florida State moved up seven spots from 18th to just outside the top 10 at No. 11.

The Seminoles came in 12th and 13th in the NCBWA and Baseball America polls respectively, moving up five places in each. Florida State was previously 17th in the NCBWA Poll and 18th in the Baseball America Poll.

The smallest jump for Florida State this week came in the D1Baseball.com Poll as the Seminoles moved up just a single spot to 20th from 21st.

Florida State will have a chance to make some more noise this week as it takes on a pair of ranked opponents. On Tuesday, Florida State visits rival Florida, who tops the D1Baseball.com Poll.

The Seminoles will also head to Charlottesville for a 3-game series against Virginia, who topped last week’s NCBWA Poll. The Cavaliers peak this week at No. 7.
