FSU Stays in Collegiate Baseball Top 10 Despite Dismal Week

Despite a dismal week that concluded with Florida State dropping four straight games, the Seminoles remained in the top 10 in the Collegiate Baseball Poll.

After splitting a 2-game set with Florida Gulf Coast, FSU was swept over the weekend by Notre Dame. Over the three games against the Fighting Irish, the Seminoles scored a total of four runs.

The 1-4 week however, resulted in just a 2-spot drop from seventh to ninth in the Collegiate Baseball Poll. Florida State did not fare so well in the other four major polls.

The Seminoles fell five spots in the USA Today Coaches, NCBWA and Baseball America polls, going from 13th to No. 8 in each. Florida State also appeared at No. 13 in the D1Baseball.com Poll – a 4-spot drop from last week.

On Tuesday, Florida State will host Florida, who peaked at No. 7 this week, before opening a 3-game weekend ACC series against Pittsburgh on Friday.
