FSU Baseball Player of the Week: Bryant Holtmann

It was a difficult week for Florida State as the Seminoles went just 1-4, but the lone FSU pitcher to earn a victory this week threw an absolute gem.

Senior pitcher Bryant Holtmann is the Florida State Baseball Player of the Week for the week of April 6th through the 12th after the best start of his career on Tuesday.

In a 5-0 win over Florida Gulf Coast, Holtmann threw eight scoreless innings, allowing seven hits and issuing two walks. Holtmann fanned six Eagles’ batters.

Holtmann earned the victory on Tuesday to improve to 5-1 for the season and tie Dylan Silva for the team-lead in victories. Holtmann lowered his earned run average to 3.65 for the year.

With Mike Compton back in the rotation, Holtmann might not get a start this week for FSU. The Seminoles will play one midweek game against Florida before opening a 3-game series against Pittsburgh on Friday.
