McKay named Co-Freshman of the Year
TUSCON, Ariz. – A national-best 12 players from the Atlantic Coast Conference garnered Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America accolades on Wednesday, as announced by Collegiate Baseball newspaper.
The league contingent is led by Louisville’s Brendan McKay, who was named Co-Freshman of the Year by the publication. It marks the second-straight year that the award has gone to an ACC player after Miami’s Zack Collins was recognized last season.
Louisville’s three players honored – McKay, Lincoln Henzman, and Sean Leland – tied for the most from any school. Notre Dame’s Brad Bass and Sean Guenther were named, as well as Virginia’s Adam Haseley and Pavin Smith.
Clemson’s Reed Rohlman, Florida State’s Dylan Busby, Georgia Tech’s Kel Johnson, Miami’s Michael Mediavilla, and Wake Forest’s Stuart Fairchild were all recognized as well.
