Seminole Sound-off: Pet Peeves from Opposing Fan Bases

This week, we asked Florida State fans what their biggest pet peeve was concerning fans of other teams.

From the Staff

With the exception of one school which you could all probably guess, I have no disdain for any team in the SEC. What is annoying however, is when fans of SEC schools, and usually ones far less accomplished than Florida State, act as if FSU couldn’t compete in the SEC.

Most would agree that top to bottom, the SEC is better than the ACC, but there are good teams in every conference. After struggling on the road for most of the year, FSU went into the home of the SEC East champion on Nov. 28 and notched its second biggest win of the year over an FBS school.

Under head coach Jimbo Fisher, FSU is 7-1 against the SEC. Two of those wins were over division champions and another was against the SEC champion and that was Auburn for the 2013 national championship. Some SEC fans have recently tried to distance themselves from the SEC East and claim SEC West superiority, but in bowl games last season, the SEC West was only 2-5. Two of those five losses were to teams FSU defeated during the regular season.
