Seminole Sound-off: FSU Player Most Likely to be Named All-American in 2016 Besides Cook

This week, we asked our readers and followers which returning Florida State player aside from running back Dalvin Cook had the best chance to be an All-American in 2016.

From the Staff

The obvious answer this week would be cornerback Jalen Ramsey or kicker Roberto Aguayo, but the odds of either returning are very slim. So with that said, I’m going to say safety Derwin James has the best chance of any FSU player to be named an All-American next season.

In little time, James has emerged as one of Florida State’s best tacklers. James can run like a defensive back, but can tackle like a linebacker.

Despite being used as a situational player throughout the early parts of 2015, James leads FSU in solo tackles and ranks second on the Seminoles in total tackles, sacks, tackles for loss, forced fumbles and fumble recoveries. If James can make just marginal improvements in year No. 2, he’s certainly going to be something to watch next season.

Sometimes, you can’t pick just one…

Imagine if this guy improves as much as he did this offseason…

An unsung hero, but a solid choice…

One of FSU’s most pleasant surprises this season…
