While San Francisco Giants’ catcher Buster Posey had another big week, minor league infielder Sherman Johnson lit up the diamond. For the second time this season, Johnson is the Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week.

Johnson earns honors for August 25th through the 31st after going 13-for-27 at the plate, which was good for a .481 batting average. During the week, Johnson also homered five times and drove in nine runs for the Single-A Inland Empire 66ers. In Saturday’s 9-7 win over the Lancaster Jethawks, Johnson had five hits and two runs scored.

In addition to the five home runs and nine RBIs, Johnson also scored 10 runs during the week. Since the second week of August, Johnson has raised his average by nearly 30 points
