Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week: Lawrence Timmons

Not many former Florida State players playing professionally were action over the past week, but the Seminoles were represented in Sunday’s Pro Bowl in Glendale. Antonio Cromartie was among the representatives, but this week’s Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week goes to a player making his first Pro Bowl appearance.

Lawrence Timmons is the Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the week of January 19th through the 25th after leading the Pro Bowl in tackles as Team Irvin beat Team Carter, 32-28. Though there wasn’t much defense to be played in Sunday’s Pro Bowl, Timmons recorded a game-high with 9 tackles for Team Carter and was one of just four players to record a tackle for loss.

Timmons’ first Pro Bowl appearance comes after the former Florida State linebacker finished the season with 132 total tackles and two sacks while helping the Pittsburgh Steelers make their first playoff appearance in three years.
