Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week: Greg Carr

The NFL preseason is in full swing as a number of former Florida State players made their NFL debuts this past week, but the former Seminole who made the most impact this week did so in the Arena Football League.

Orlando Predators’ wide receiver Greg Carr is the Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the week of August 10th through the 16th for his performance in a playoff loss to the Jacksonville Sharks on Saturday.

The season may have come to an end for the Predators, but Carr finished strong. The 6’6″ former Seminole finished with a team-high 9 receptions for 105 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the 55-33 defeat.

Carr battled through injury for much of the season, but finishes the year with over 550 yards receiving and 9 touchdowns.

Brooks Koepka (PGA)
Brooks Koepka shot -13 at the PGA Championship in Wisconsin over the weekend to finish tied for fifth. Koepka has now finished in the top 10 in four of his last six tournaments.

Nick Moody, LB San Francisco 49ers (NFL)
San Francisco 49ers’ linebacker Nick Moody finished with a game-high 9 total tackles, four solo, in a 23-10 preseason loss to the Houston Texans on Saturday.

Luke Weaver, P (Minor Leagues)
Luke Weaver improved to 6-5 on the season for the Class-A Advanced Palm Beach Cardinals of the Florida State League and lowered his ERA to 1.78 by tossing seven shutout innings in a 2-0 victory over the Charlotte Stone Crabs on Tuesday. Weaver allowed five hits and two walks in the win while striking out six.
