Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week: Buster Posey

For the fourth time this season, San Francisco Giants’ catcher Buster Posey earns Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week honors. Posey is the top professional athlete from Florida State for the week of August 18th through the 24th for his efforts at the plate.

In five games this week for the Giants, Posey hit .409, going 9-for-22 at the dish. Five of Posey’s nine hits went for extra bases which included home runs on Thursday and Friday night. During the five-game stretch, Posey also drove in three runs and scored five more.

After a slow start to the season, Posey now leads the Giants with 61 RBIs on the season and is second on the team in home runs and batting average by the narrowest of margins. Posey is a big reason why San Francisco clings to the final wild card spot in the National League.
