Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week: Buster Posey

The Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the week of June 16th through the 22nd comes on the diamond and goes to San Francisco Giants’ catcher Buster Posey for the second time this season. Though the Giants struggled a bit this week, Posey hit in every game.

For the week, Posey was 8-for-19 at the plate, a .421 average. Posey also scored four runs during the week and drove in four more while raising his batting average by 12 points.

Posey is just one of the reasons that the Giants currently lead the National League West with a 45-30 record. Posey currently ranks in the top 5 among National League catchers in batting average, runs scored, home runs and RBIs.
