Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week: Brooks Koepka

For the first time, the Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week comes from the PGA Tour. 24-year-old Florida State alum Brooks Koepka earns the honor for the week of June 9th-15th for his performance at the US Open in Pinehurst.

Though Koepka shot over par for the tournament and 10 shots back of winner Martin Kaymer, the former Seminole finished tied for fourth at +1. The fourth place finish is the highest for Koepka at a PGA event since finishing third in the Fys.com Open in October.

At just 24 years old, Koepka looks to have a very bright future on the PGA Tour after finishing in the top 5 in just his fourth major event ever. In his previous three major events played, Koepka missed the cut twice. Koepka easily made the cut this time out, shooting -2 through two rounds. Koepka has yet to win a tournament on the PGA level, but that looks to change soon after his performance over the weekend.
