FSU Football Player of the Week: Rashad Greene

The Florida State Football Player of the Week for Week 1 was a no-brainer. Senior wide receiver Rashad Greene earns the honors after catching 11 passes for 203 yards in the top-ranked Seminoles’ 37-31 victory over Oklahoma State in Dallas on Saturday night.

With Florida State clinging to a 30-24 lead in the fourth quarter, Greene’s 50-yard catch and run for a touchdown gave Florida State a 37-24 lead. The score also proved to be vital as Oklahoma State answered with a touchdown on its next possession.

Greene’s 203 yards receiving accounted for 55 percent of the Seminoles’ passing offense in the victory. With the hot start, Greene looks to be well on his way to becoming the first FSU receiver to lead Florida State in receiving yards in four consecutive seasons. Greene now sits 931 yards shy of tying Ron Sellers’ career receiving record at Florida State.
