FSU Football Player of the Week: Dalvin Cook

It was a record-breaking week for Florida State sophomore running back Dalvin Cook and as a result, Cook is our Florida State Football Player of the Week.

Cook earns the honors for Week 11 after breaking legend Warrick Dunn’s single-season FSU rushing record on Saturday in a 34-17 victory over N.C. State.

Cook finished the day with 138 yards on the ground on 22 carries and scored touchdowns of 14 and 30 yards. Cook added two receptions for 17 yards.

Cook eclipsed Dunn’s school-record on his third carry of the game on a run for a first down. Cook now has 1,369 yards for the year, which is 127 more than Dunn rushed for as a junior in 1995.

Cook ranks sixth nationally in rushing yards this season, fifth in yards-per-carry and is tied for 10th with 14 rushing touchdowns. Cook also ranks second nationally in rushing yards-per-game, averaging better than 152 per contest. Cook and the Seminoles will host Chattanooga at 3:00 P.M. eastern time on Saturday.
