FSU Down in AP Poll, Up in Coaches

Despite having four teams ranked in front of it lose and the top two teams struggle, Florida State still managed to drop in this week’s AP Poll.

The Seminoles fell one spot this week from No. 11 to 12th after beating Wake Forest 24-16 on Saturday. Ole Miss, UCLA, Georgia and Notre Dame all fell below Florida State, but FSU was jumped by rival Florida, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Clemson and 1-loss Alabama.

Ohio State and TCU were No. 1 and 2 in each of the polls. In the AP Poll, Baylor was third, followed by Michigan State and idle Utah. Clemson, LSU, Alabama, Texas A&M and Oklahoma rounded out the top 10 with Florida coming in 11th.

FSU moved up a spot from ninth to eight in the Amway Coaches Poll. Michigan State, Baylor and LSU were ranked third through fifth with Clemson and Utah sitting at No. 6 and 7 respectively. Behind No. 8 FSU was Oklahoma and Alabama.

The Seminoles remain one of just two ACC teams in the human rankings. Clemson came in sixth in both polls on Sunday. Among unranked teams, only Oregon had more votes than Duke.

FSU will look to improve to 5-0 for the fourth straight year as it plays host to rival Miami on Saturday. The ACC announced kickoff will be at 8:00 P.M. eastern time and the game will be televised on ABC.
