Florida State Reclaims Top Spot in Human Polls

Thanks to a dramatic 30-26 come-from-behind win over Miami and a Mississippi State loss to Alabama, Florida State regained the top spot in both human polls on Sunday as the only remaining undefeated team from a Power 5 conference.

The top 5 was the same in both the human polls as Alabama and Oregon followed the #1 Seminoles. The previous #1 Mississippi State fell to fourth following a 25-20 loss to the Crimson Tide and the fifth-ranked team in each poll was TCU, who survived a scare from lowly Kansas.

Despite holding the top spot in each poll, the Seminoles do not have a victory over a current ranked team. Notre Dame lost to Northwestern on Saturday and Clemson was handled by Georgia Tech. Both of those teams were previously ranked before losses, but remain the top two vote-getters in each poll for non-ranked teams.

Florida State is one of three ACC teams currently in the top 25. Georgia Tech moved up to 17th in the AP Poll and 16th in the Amway Coaches Poll after the convincing victory over Clemson. Duke fell to 25th in each poll following a narrow 17-16 upset loss against Virginia Tech. Florida State will face one of those two schools for the ACC Championship in Charlotte on December 6th.

Florida State concludes ACC play this Saturday at home against Boston College in a game that will begin after 3:30 P.M. eastern time.
