5-Star TE Nauta Decommits from Florida State

5-star high school tight end Isaac Nauta announced Tuesday that he has decommitted from Florida State. Nauta committed to FSU on December 15th, 2014 and is the top tight end of the 2016 class.

Nauta will play his final high school season at IMG Academy in Bradenton after previously playing in Buford, Georgia. When Nauta transferred to IMG, the school was coached by former Florida State quarterback Chris Weinke and expected to be quarterbacked by 5-star FSU commit Malik Henry.

Weinke took a job as quarterbacks’ coach of the NFL’s St. Louis Rams and Henry returned to California to play his senior year of high school after having disputes with new IMG coaches. It is not known whether either Weinke or Henry’s departure was a factor in Nauta decommitting.
