Seminoles Snap Skid With Win Over Citadel

Behind 26 points from freshman guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes, Florida State was able to snap its three-game skid with at 66-55 win over The Citadel at the Donald L. Tucker Center on Tuesday night.

Florida State trailed 6-2 early, but used a 15-0 run to grab control of the contest and never looked back. Rathan-Mayes was a stellar 8-for-9 from the field while Montay Brandon was also very efficient.

Brandon was the only other Seminole to score in double-figures, finishing with 19. Brandon shot 6-for-8 from the floor and ripped down a game-high nine rebounds.

Ashton Moore led The Citadel with 17 points while center P.J. Horgan and guard Jake Wright each added 12 in the loss.

FSU (2-3) will look to win consecutive games for the first time this season as it hosts Charleston Southern on Friday night. The Bulldogs (2-3) will host Warren Wilson College on Saturday afternoon.
