‘Noles Crack Top 10 in Three Polls

It was an even week for Florida State as the Seminoles went 2-2 against top-10 opponents in Florida and Virginia. Though it wasn’t a winning week, playing well against ranked teams on the road did pay dividends for the ‘Noles, who sit at 19-6 for the year.

Peak position for Florida State remained in the Collegiate Baseball poll where the Seminoles held firm at No. 7. That was the only poll last week that had FSU in the top 10, but three other polls now have the Seminoles there.

Florida State is now 10th in both the NCBWA and Baseball America polls after being 12th and 13th respectively last week. In the USA Today Coaches Poll, FSU jumped two spots from 11th to 9th.

The lone poll where Florida State is not in the top 10 happens to be the one where the Seminoles made the biggest jump this week. FSU moved up from No. 20 to No. 13 this week in the D1Baseball.com poll. The ‘Noles dropped out of the poll earlier in the season after starting the year just 4-3.

After four straight road games, the Seminoles will be back at the friendly confines of Dick Howser Stadium this week. The Seminoles will host Alabama State on Wednesday before opening a 3-game series against Virginia Tech on Friday.
