FSU Baseball Player of the Week: Boomer Biegalski

Florida State entered the ACC Tournament on a 5-game losing streak and left on a 4-game winning streak to capture its sixth ACC crown and first since 2010. While Ben DeLuzio was an outstanding 8-for-15 at the plate, the star for the Seminoles made his noise on the mound.

The Florida State Baseball Player of the Week for the week of May 18th through the 24th is pitcher Boomer Biegalski, who tossed 11 scoreless innings in Durham.

In two ACC Tournament appearances, Biegalski earned a pair of wins and allowed just five hits and two walks while striking out 12.

Biegalski made sure the ACC Tournament began on the right foot by throwing 6 1/3 shutout innings against Clemson on Wednesday, surrendering just four hits in a 3-1 victory. On Sunday, he pitched 4 2/3 innings of shutout relief, allowing just a hit in a 6-2 FSU win over North Carolina State in the ACC Championship.

Biegalski, a sophomore, was named the Most Valuable Player of the ACC Tournament and improved to 7-4 on the year with the pair of wins for FSU. Biegalski also lowered his ERA to 2.84 which is tied with Mike Compton for the best among FSU starters.
